Sculptures
Western owns the sculptures on campus but does not own the copyright for the sculptures, or photos/images of the sculptures. Special permission must be obtained for use of images of these sculptures.
Western has permission from some of the artists in the Western Sculpture Collection to use images of their artwork. Details of the sculptures must be unaltered. They must also contain proper credit: the copyright symbol, name of the artist, name of work, and date.
These images may be used for general WWU in-house publications, such as:
- Books
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Flyers
- Announcement Cards
- Websites

Images may not be used as logos or on commercial items, such as:
- Parking passes
- T-shirts

Images of sculptures by the artists in this section may be used with these credits included:
- Name of the artist preceded by copyright sign
- Name of work with date
- Name of photographer
- The source of funding*
*The source of funding may be eliminated because of space allowance, unless the sculpture is a gift. More information can be found on the Western Gallery website and printed brochure.
